Supporting youth soccer players in our community

About

Our Mission

To support the participation of youth soccer players in the Corte Madera FC competitive program through the provision of financial assistance.

The Need

Competitive youth soccer requires a high level of commitment from players and their families.

To develop their skills, players must demonstrate focus, motivation, and dedication. Any player who is invited to join a competitive team has truly earned the opportunity to play.

To support a player, a family must purchase uniforms and equipment, pay program and tournament fees, and devote significant time and funds to travel throughout the season. Depending on the age/level of the player and their related team costs, the total amount per player can range from $1,500 to $3,000+. For some families in our community this is cost prohibitive.

Corte Madera FC is not able to offer its own financial assistance program because it is administered as a community soccer club hosted by the Town of Corte Madera Parks & Recreation Department.

The Town of Corte Madera offers scholarships for participation in its programming, but the value of these scholarships does not approach the cost of competitive soccer.

The Corte Madera FC Scholarship Fund seeks to cover this gap and ensure that all players invited to join a team are able to participate.

Our Story

Our roots are in the communities of Corte Madera and local youth soccer. From this involvement, our founders saw the need to support players and families for whom the commitment to competitive soccer created a substantial financial burden.

Our board of local parent volunteers is dedicated to enabling all players who earn a place on a competitive team to benefit from training and competing at a high level in a program that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect.

We know from personal experience what it means for a young player to receive assistance that allows them to participate in competitive soccer alongside their peers and benefit from the physical, mental, social, and emotional development this brings.
